U-HANDSHAKE — Application Direction

Approved hackathon direction

This direction is derived from the evidence and competition requirements in Briefing Page, then consolidates the team's ideas from Ete, Beam, and Bream.

1. Product Thesis

Your balance tells you whether you can pay. U-HANDSHAKE tells you whether it is safe to pay.

A platform may show that a user has enough balance for a transaction while hiding the fact that part of that money is already needed for rent, bills, debt, BNPL installments, emergency protection, or an important goal.

U-HANDSHAKE is an integration layer that evaluates a proposed transaction immediately before payment. It shows the financial consequences, surfaces relevant trust signals, and uses U-Bot to explain the result and present safer alternatives. It informs the user without taking control of the user's money.

The hackathon deliverable is not a new production wallet. It is a functional Integration Playground containing a thin host-platform simulation and a reusable Safe-to-Pay interface that illustrates how U-Topia or another financial platform could integrate the system.

2. Painkiller vs. Vitamins

Priority Capability Role
Main painkiller Safe-to-Pay Check Prevents a user from making a transaction without understanding its immediate effect on committed money, liquidity, and goals.
Required engine Intent-based allocation and upcoming obligations Establishes how much of the visible balance is genuinely available to spend.
Conditional protection Recipient and scam-risk indicators Runs only when transaction context triggers it; strengthens the risky-transfer scenario without becoming the main product.
AI supplement U-Bot explanation and clarification Turns calculations and triggered signals into understandable guidance. AI does not own the calculation or final decision.
Vitamin Persona tone, general insights, gamification May improve engagement but is not required to prove the product's value.
Post-MVP Investment advice, portfolio monitoring, AML, reputation graph, escrow, human hotline Potential extensions requiring additional data, regulation, operations, or infrastructure.

3. Main Feature: Safe-to-Pay Check

User problem

“I can see my account balance, but I cannot tell whether spending this amount now will leave enough for the things I must pay next.”

Product response

For every proposed transaction, U-HANDSHAKE returns:
